FVI is very proud of our green initiatives, becoming recent members of the Forest Stewardship Council and participating in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™ ). At fvi we are committed to these environmental standards at both our job sites and our manufacturing plant to ensure that our company and our employees do our utmost to leave the least amount of carbon imprint that we possibly can.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) was created to change the dialogue about and the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide. FSC® was created in 1993 to answer the question – “what is sustainable forestry” globally as there are challenges around the world that need attention – poverty, disease, land use change, climate change, and pollution threatening out resources. Loggers, foresters, environmentalists and sociologists came together to set forth principals, criteria, and standards that span economic, social, and environmental concerns.

LEED™ is a third party certification program and internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. It provides the owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance.
